MBA 571 Operations Management

This course serves as an introduction to the theoretical and practice applications of operations management. With an emphasis is on managerial processes for effective operations in both goods-producing and service- rendering organization, this course provides the student with the analytical techniques, processes, and approaches used to solve, prevent, and anticipate problems within an organization. The course will include operations strategy, quality assurance, facilities location and design, capacity planning, forecasting, production scheduling, inventory control, process design, and project management. The topics are integrated using a systems model of the operations of an organization.
