ED 117 Algorithms in Elementary Education

A course studying the common mathematics algorithms from early education. This course is designed to help early education majors prepare for the algorithms early education students need to be successful, as well as the IDOE standards for math education. Topics covered (with the IDOE standard): Prime, composite, and rational numbers (number sense and computation), linear and quadratic equations (algebraic thinking and computation), Geometry (geometry), counting, statistics and probability (data analysis), measuring and approximating (measurements).
