SO 323 Crime and Deviance
Examines the phenomenon of non-normative behavior from several perspectives (e.g., society, social organizations and individuals); includes analysis of the social contexts in which behaviors, individuals and groups come to be labeled as deviant, as well as the influence of historical and political factors; considers sociological theories which explain the occurrence and distribution of deviance; explores approaches to the management of deviance and deviants through social control.
