Nutrition
A nutrition minor will prepare students with the knowledge and skills to support healthy dietary lifestyle decisions for the clients with which they intervene. Students will be equipped with foundational knowledge of nutrition's role in an individual's overall health promotion and disease prevention/management. Students in this minor can strengthen their path to various careers within the health and wellness industry. This includes positions such as nutritional and wellness educators, wellness coaches, healthcare administrators, fitness trainers, and dietetic technicians, working in a variety of sectors such as hospitals, government, outpatient/nursing care facilities, as well as consulting/self-employment situations. With additional post-baccalaureate education, students can extend their nutrition training to pursue careers as registered dieticians/nutritionists, naturopaths, food scientists or food technologists, or food and safety auditors.
