Women’s and Gender Studies
The Women’s and Gender Studies minor at SMWC is an interdisciplinary program devoted to topics concerning women, gender, and feminism. The program focuses on the social construction of gender in society and upon the myriad ways in which gender affects our everyday lives. Emphasis is put on the structural inequalities resulting from the intersections of gender, race, and social class. Students will engage in critical thinking and become empowered to work for social justice.
