ED 339 Literacy Instruction for English Language Learners

All students come to school with strengths in their home language. Ideally literacy instruction builds on those strengths. The challenge for schools occurs when students’ home language is not the language of schooling. Second-language instruction and the effects of culture on reading are explored in this course.
