NU 332 Mental Health Nursing
Focuses on psychiatric nursing care for individuals, families, and populations with psychosocial and substance-related needs through integrated classroom and clinical experiences. Students apply nursing and social science knowledge to deliver holistic, compassionate, evidence-based, person-centered care. Emphasis is placed on therapeutic communication, population health advocacy, quality and safety in mental health settings, health promotion, interprofessional collaboration, and professional nursing practice within legal and regulatory frameworks. Online lecture content with faculty and student interactions and thirty-six (36) simulation clinical hours.
