NU 535 Mental Health Considerations for Outpatient Primary Care
This course focuses on health promotion, assessment, diagnosis, and management of common acute and chronic mental health conditions across the lifespan in primary care. Emphasis is placed on evidence-based clinical decision making, patient-centered care, and the integration of behavioral health into primary care practice. Students examine screening, diagnosis, treatment planning, referral, and coordination of care while considering social determinants of health and population mental health needs.
