NU 546 Transition to Advanced Practice

This course prepares students for transition into the family nurse practitioner role by examining professional, legal, business, and policy considerations that influence advanced practice nursing. Topics include practice environments, licensure and certification, risk management, reimbursement models, advocacy, and professional development. Emphasis is placed on ethical practice, interprofessional collaboration, and strategies that support sustainable and effective advanced practice. The course includes a 100-hour clinical practicum that supports professional role development and transition to advanced practice.
